Technical description
A Quad opens the bands - so they say. The advantage of the quad antenna is a larger gain in relation to the boom length, but it is a bit heavier due to the larger elements. Due to the rectangular shape of the radiator, the vertical opening angle is a bit smaller, the horizontal one a bit wider, good to observe the band in a wide range.
The coaxial cable is connected directly to the excited element, no balun is needed. This also means there is no power limitation or loss.
Application description
- The very compact model 50DDO2 with 2 elements has a very short boom of only 45 cm, making it ideal in tight spaces.
- The 50DDO3 model with 3 elements has a boom length of 2.35 m.
- The "big" version 50DDO4 offers space for 4 elements on a boom of 4.39 length and best profit values.
All models are supplied with mast clamps for mounting on 50 mm diameter poles.
